Youtubeのプリンス公式チャンネルにはショートver.とロングvｅｒ.が公開されています。

プリンス登場時にプリンスが口笛を吹いていますが、メロディはよく聞くと「The Arms Of Orion」
Batmanのロゴをあしらった服を着ているチンパンジーが出てきます。プリンスがバナナをあげます。
そのバナナには「psyche（サイケ）」と書かれています。マイケル・ジャクソンのバブルくんが有名な時期だったので、そのディスリだったのでしょう。

ロングver.にはキャンディ・ダルファーのソロが収録されています。キャンディの両足の間にプリンスが寝ころび、
「When I need trombone, my dog is handy, but when I want sax, I call Candy」
（トロンボーンが必要な時はボクの犬が便利だけど、サックスが必要な時はキャンディを呼ぶ）
とプリンスらしい紹介をしています。Boneとdogをかけていて、my dogをいうのは自分のバンドのトロンボーン奏者のことでしょうか　それとも卑猥な意味でしょうか

シングルも出ています。Ｂ面はI Love I In Me (The Hits/ The B-sidesに収録）

日本でもシングル出たのですが、邦題が「アームズ・オブ・オライオン」　
確かに英語ではオリオン座の事をオライオンと発音するし、歌の中でも2人ともオライオンと言っています。
が、日本語でオリオン座ってあるのに、英語そのままの邦題めずらしいなと思います。
時代的に流れ的に「オリオン座に抱かれて」とかつけそうなのに・・

シーナ・イーストンがインタビューでこの曲について語っています。
"I sent him the lyrics to 'The Arms of Orion,'　He really liked it, put music to it and it ended up being on the Batman soundtrack. I'm totally into the stars. Right outside my bedroom window, right over my front guest house, you looked right into Orion. I loved the concept of two lovers apart, looking up at the same stars and wishing they could be together."
「The Arms of Orionの歌詞をプリンスに送りました。彼はとても気に入って曲をつけてくれて、Batmanのサウンドトラックに入れてくれました。私はその星にとても興味を持ちました。わたしの寝室の窓から　ゲストハウスの真上でオリオン座が見られたのです。私は２人の離れている恋人が同じ星を見上げて、いつか一緒になることを祈るというコンセプトを気に入っていました」

後にNPGのドラムで活躍するマイケル・ブランドと後にプリンスとたくさん共演したサックス奏者のキャンディー・ダルファーがこのライブに初めて参加しました。
キャンディ・ダルファー右端にいて全然映ってないです。

映画バットマンのサントラとして発売されたCDというかプリンスがバットマンからインスパイアされたアルバム
映画もサントラもヒットしました。

「The Future」は映画でも冒頭で流れる曲です。

シングルはヨーロッパでの発売のみで、リミックスとなっています。Ｂ面は「Electric Chair」
リミックスはウィリアム・オービットが手掛けております。
元のベースラインをカットして、トランスのようなハウスのような曲になっていて、これはこれでいい感じです。

ウィリアム・オービットはグラミー賞受賞している英国のミュージシャン・プロデューサーです。
マドンナ・ブラー・ピンクなどたくさんのミュージシャンのプロデュースを行いました。
マドンナの1998年リリースの「Ray of Light」が有名です。そのアルバムの中に「Candy Perfume Girl」という曲があるのですが、この曲の作詞を手掛けたのが、ウィリアム・オービットとスザンナ・メルヴォワン

スザンナ・メルヴォワンは、プリンスと「Starfish & Coffee」の歌詞を共作しておりますが、「Candy Perfume Girl」もやっぱりかわいらしい歌詞になっています。

このシングルのジャケットのプリンスがカッコイイのですが、むかーしこの大きなポスターを持っていて、額に入れてコンポの上に飾って毎日眺めてたなと思い出しました。どこで手に入れたか覚えていないのですが、調べてみると日本だけのプロモーション用のポスターだったみたいです。まだ実家にあるはず笑
